French automotive specialists Renault brought some chic Parisian style to London’s King Cross station this week in order to celebrate 25 years since the Renault Clio was released in the UK.

On the 26th and 27th of April, Renault showcased their new red Clio S Dynamique vehicle, placed inside a beautiful and grand 7 foot birdcage. The vintage-esque birdcage also had a stunning red velvet swing, inspired by the infamous Moulin Rouge show in Paris. The birdcage was also surrounded by thousands of padlocks influenced by the “Love Bridge” in Paris where couples write their names on a padlock and attach it to the bridge, throw the key in the river and make a wish! Renault also encouraged those who took photographs of the campaign to take to social media and share them under the hastag #Clio25.

This Renault Clio promotional campaign gave commuters and passers-by the opportunity to unlock the padlocks and win a number of French inspired prizes such as; a trip for two to Paris, dinner at a Michelin star French restaurant, beauty treatments at a French inspired spa and a number of goodies from luxury skin care and cosmetic experts L’Occitane.

Renault wanted to prove they still have that Va Va Voom with their sleek and stylish campaign, allowing everyone to experience the company’s Parisian legacy. The main aim of this experiential activity was to celebrate the breakthrough of the Renault Clio into the UK and what exactly it is that makes the Renault Clio so attractive yet practical, that special something…the Va Va Voom.
